Unlock Your Hidden Gold

Did You Know You Have Hidden Gold?
In all likelihood your organization has hidden gold that your clients, customers and members would love to have. It’s an asset that’s just sitting there waiting to be discovered. Do you have a customer portal? You use them all the time, logging into your bank, investment portal, or health portal. More and more organizations are using them to stay connected with their customers and clients and to save them time by efficiently delivering private information electronically to their customers. It’s highly likely that you have helpful information that you can share with your clients and customers and important information you can gather from them as well. Customer portals help to leverage this powerful asset and increase your engagement, thereby increasing their likelihood to continue working with you.

Mining Your Hidden Gold
Start here, what information do you have that is valuable to your audience? Everyone in business has something that their customers and clients would benefit from. Here’s a simple example, banks were one of the first businesses to create portals. You probably don’t think twice about logging into your bank to check on your balance and look up transactions. This digital asset (your banking information) is free to them, yet it is quite valuable to you as their customer. Not only does it not cost them, instead it actually saves them money since every time you can answer your own questions, they don’t have to pay someone to answer those questions. In addition it gives the bank the opportunity to tell you about new products and engage you with other services.

All organizations have hidden gold. If you’re in manufacturing you have valuable information on customer orders, products, supply chain, order history as well as industry insights. If you have a service business, you have valuable project information, real world/real time information on industry trends, order information, product information and contact information. Non-profit organizations have great information to share about success stories and impact. Everyone has hidden gold.
